Assembly and Workshop Package for Schools
Yo-yo masters Arron Sparks and Sam Veale present this unique schools package for pupils of all ages. A fun and informative assembly, followed by workshops for every class.
“Sam was brilliant! Had a great rapport with his audience! Was careful to explain instructions to children and was friendly! His tricks had the whole school in awe and amazement! Thanks!”
Cobham Primary School 9/11/09
The day begins with a 30-minute assembly featuring the history and physics of the Yo-Yo and (of course) an amazing display of Yo-Yo trickery.
After this, a Yo-Yo workshop for each class will take place in the school hall. Equipment will be provided.
Inside Loop was set up to entertain people and educate them about the world of Yo-Yos. It is not affiliated to a Yo-Yo manufacturer or toy company. With the school’s permission, pupils will have the opportunity to buy Yo-Yos and instructional DVDs from our teachers but the school workshop is not a sales pitch or product marketing exercise.

Lesson times are flexible, but a good guide is:
Nursery to Year 2:
20 – 30 minutes For the younger classes, we recommend a brief go with a Yo-Yo followed by another quick demonstration by the teachers.
Year 3 – 5 and Secondary:
30 – 45 minutes
Year 6 and above:
45 – 60 minutes
Time allowing, we can also combine this with a diabolo (Chinese Yo-yo) workshop at no extra cost.
At least one other teacher will need to be present at all times and class sizes are limited to a maximum of 35 pupils.
Benefits of Yo-yo workshop:
Relaxes and alleviates stress Improves fine motor skills and co-ordination
Teaches the benefits of patience and practice
A fun way of encouraging focus
Confidence building
Pan-generational: Pupils parents and grandparents probably played with Yo-Yos when they were young
2010 is being heralded by many as the year of the Yo-Yo: The craze is set to return once again.
Yo-yo teaching can also be applied :
Science: An excellent demonstration of physics at work.
Design and technology: Yo-yo design goes from very simple wooden, fixed axle Yo-Yos to complex materials with miniature bearings axles.
